With reliable, consistent performance, Brother Genuine Toner produces high-quality output with vivid tones that wont fade or smudge. We strongly recommend using Brother Genuine Toner with your Brother printer. Using non-Genuine toner could cause damage to your printer. The printers limited warranty may not cover damage resulting from the use of non-Brother supplies. Use with Brother MFC-L9550CDW, HL-L9200CDWT
The steady middle ground: a departmental printer or workgroup MFC turning out a few hundred pages a week. At 500 pages a month the TN530 lasts the better part of seven months; at 1,000 a month, about a quarter. It is the fill Brother specced as standard for the HL-5040 generation — machines built for shared office duty rather than occasional home use — and for moderate volumes it remains the proportionate buy.
Only in capacity. The facts are on the cartridge codes themselves: the TN530 is rated at 3,300 pages, the TN560 at 6,500, and both serve the identical nine models. Price them side by side and the TN560 at $143.29 works out near 2.2 cents a page against this cartridge's 3.3 — so the TN530's case rests on paying less today, not on printing cheaper. If your machine empties cartridges quickly, the sibling is the better arithmetic.
Nine workgroup models: the DCP-8020 and DCP-8025D; the HL-5040, HL-5050, HL-5050LT and HL-5070N printers; and the MFC-8420, MFC-8820D and MFC-8820DN all-in-ones. That is the whole of this platform — Brother kept this generation focused on networked office machines, so the list is short and there is no consumer model hiding on it.
About 3.3 cents — $107.37 across the 3,300-page rating. Against the $150.32 list price you are saving a meaningful slice at the till, but per page this standard fill is the platform's more expensive way to print, and we say so plainly. Its virtues are the lower ticket and genuine Brother toner; if pennies per page drive the decision, read the TN560's numbers before you order.
Not necessarily. One-sided fading usually means the remaining toner has settled unevenly: take the TN530 out and rock it gently from side to side a few times to level the powder, then print again. A green-tab clean of the drum's corona wire, as the manual shows, clears many streak complaints too. If the same light band returns within a few dozen pages, then yes — the cartridge is genuinely near its end.
The TN530 can be sent back within 30 days of delivery in all cases — full wording on the shipping and returns page — and Brother's manufacturer warranty stands behind it as genuine factory stock. We ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, whichever warehouse is nearest, and our support team works Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
The TN530 is the standard-yield genuine black for Brother's HL-5040-era workgroup platform: 3,300 rated pages at $107.37, against a $150.32 list. It is the right-sized refill for the DCP-8020, MFC-8820 and their siblings when volumes are moderate and the lower upfront price matters more than the last cent per page. The high-yield sibling and the rest of the platform's supplies are in the Brother range at Clever Supplies.
