Frequently Asked Questions

Two TN431BK cartridges in one box — who is this actually for?

The office whose L8360 or MFC-L8900 prints mono documents all day, every day — invoices, statements, shipping paperwork — and treats a toner stoppage as an operational problem, not an inconvenience. Each cartridge is rated at 3,000 pages, so the box holds 6,000 pages of black: one in the machine, one on the shelf, and a reorder point that arrives with warning instead of urgency.

What does the twin pack save against two singles?

Two TN431BK singles at $111.72 come to $223.44. This pack is $210.11 — $13.33 less — putting the per-cartridge cost at $105.06 and the per-page figure near 3.5 cents against 3.7 bought singly. It is a working saving rather than a spectacular one; the pack's second job, keeping a sealed spare permanently on hand, is worth as much as the discount to most of the offices that buy it.

How does it stack up against the TN433BK 2 pack?

Honestly — and we'll say it plainly — the TN433BK twin pack is the sharper value: $212.99 for two 4,500-page cartridges, 9,000 pages in the box, against this pack's 6,000 pages for $210.11. A difference of $2.88 buys half as many pages again. Choose this TN431 pack if your site is standardised on TN431, if purchasing prefers the standard-yield line, or if the machine's remaining service life is in doubt; choose the TN433 pack on pure arithmetic.

Which printers does this pack fit?

The nine L8260/L8360 and L9310 models: HL-L8260CDW, HL-L8360CDW, HL-L8360CDWT, HL-L9310CDW, HL-L9310CDWT, HL-L9310CDWTT, MFC-L8610CDW, MFC-L8900CDW and MFC-L9570CDW. Both cartridges are TN431BK blacks for the black slot; colours are a separate purchase in whichever yield class you run.

Will the second cartridge keep until the first one is finished?

Yes — a sealed genuine cartridge stored flat, dry and away from heat or strong light is in no hurry. At the rate a 3,000-page first cartridge is spent, the spare waits months, not years, and that is well within what sealed toner tolerates without any change in performance. Fit it when the printer asks; there's no benefit in swapping early.

What are the return and warranty arrangements on a pack?

The pack returns within 30 days of delivery if anything is wrong, and Brother's manufacturer warranty stands behind the cartridges — full terms on our shipping and returns page. Those are the genuine-stock terms throughout this range; our support team keeps hours of Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
