Frequently Asked Questions

Why does magenta quietly decide whether our marketing prints look professional?

Because magenta carries the colors clients actually judge: reds, pinks, purples and realistic skin tones in photographs. When the TN315M is fresh, those shades print the way the design file intended. As it depletes, reds turn rusty and faces go sallow, and a leaflet that should look polished looks tired instead. No other cartridge in the row has as much influence over perceived print quality.

What changes going from the standard magenta to this one — and what does not?

The fill changes; nothing else does. The TN315M is rated at 3,500 pages against the standard TN310M's 1,500, and it fits the identical magenta slot in the identical machines. Same genuine Brother cartridge pattern, same fitting, more than double the toner inside. Your printer will not know the difference except that the magenta level falls far more slowly.

Which printers take the TN315M?

The HL-4140CN, HL-4150CDN, HL-4570CDW and HL-4570CDWT printers; the MFC-9460CDN, MFC-9560CDW and MFC-9970CDW all-in-ones; and the DCP-9055CDN and DCP-9270CDN. If the spent magenta in your machine reads TN310M or TN315M, this is the high-yield genuine refill for that slot.

What is the price story on this cartridge?

It sells for $173.29, which is $69.32 below the $242.61 list price, and across 3,500 rated pages that is roughly 5 cents a page — against about 7.2 cents for the standard-yield magenta in the same family. The saving only materialises if you print the pages, which is why this tier is aimed at color-busy machines; occasional color users are better served by the cheaper standard cartridge.

Our reds have gone dull mid-run — how do I confirm it is the magenta?

Print the built-in test page and study the magenta block. A dull, uneven or streaked block alongside healthy cyan and yellow blocks settles the question. Another quick check: print a page of pure red. If it emerges orange-brown, the magenta side of the mix is starved, and fitting a fresh TN315M restores it immediately.

How do I return this cartridge if something is wrong?

Genuine Brother stock can be returned to Clever Supplies within 30 days of delivery, in all cases — the full policy is on our shipping and returns page. Brother's manufacturer warranty stands behind the cartridge beyond the store window. Questions are answered Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
