Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a department fit a new drum and take a second toner in the same order?
Because drum day is the one planned interruption a busy shared printer gets, and it is the efficient moment to sort the shelf out too. One TN820 goes in with the fresh DR820 drum; the second cartridge waits in the cupboard, so the next toner change — which on a departmental machine can land mid-deadline — becomes a two-minute swap instead of an urgent order. This box is bought by people who would rather never think about the printer twice in the same quarter.
What does this size save against the parts?
$17.51. Assembled individually, two TN820 cartridges at $98.69 and a DR820 drum at $159.29 total $356.67. The bundle is $339.16, and it is $135.66 under its own $474.82 list price. The discount grows with the box size in this family — this mid-size sits between the near-parts-priced single pairing and the much deeper savings of the two-drum and three-toner sizes.
How much printing is in the box?
The toner side holds 6,000 pages — two TN820 cartridges rated at 3,000 pages each. The DR820 drum is rated separately at 30,000 pages, so the cartridges in this box together consume only a fifth of the new drum's rated life. The two figures describe different components and are never combined: toner is spent page by page, while the drum is the imaging surface working underneath all of it.
How should the spare cartridge be stored until its turn?
Sealed in its Brother box, flat, in a cool dry cupboard out of direct sunlight. Genuine cartridges store without fuss for the interval involved here — one cartridge cycle on a workgroup machine is typically a matter of weeks to a few months — so no special handling is needed beyond keeping the packaging intact until fitting day.
What are the return and warranty terms?
Everything in the box is genuine Brother stock, carrying the OEM arrangement: a 30-day return window from delivery that applies in all cases, and warranty protection under Brother's manufacturer warranty for both cartridges and the drum. Our shipping and returns page has the full terms. Those are the complete conditions for this bundle — the longer cover shown elsewhere on the site belongs to compatible products.
