Our school office prints in bursts — enrollment week, then almost nothing. Does sitting hurt these cartridges?
Sealed cartridges store well, so a set bought ahead of a busy term waits patiently in the cabinet. Keep the boxes sealed, out of direct heat and sunlight, and open each cartridge only when its slot on the 6128MFP calls for it: black 106R01455, cyan 106R01452, magenta 106R01453 or yellow 106R01454. Toner is a dry powder; an unopened cartridge does not dry out over a summer break.
Is the Premium set different from the standard 6128MFP set?
No — and we say so on purpose. The Premium listing carries the identical four cartridges, the identical $83.25 price and the identical 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns as the standard listing. "Premium Quality" is wording on the page, not a separate grade of toner in the box.
What yields should we budget around for a school year?
Black is rated at 3,100 pages; cyan, magenta and yellow at 2,500 pages each. Report cards, letters home and permission slips are black-dominant, so black turns over fastest, while the colors stretch across terms of certificates and display work. Ratings assume standard coverage, so a run of full-color posters will draw the colors down quicker than the numbers imply.
The magenta warning appeared during report week. Must the set be changed as a group?
Never as a group. Each cartridge is its own sealed unit in its own slot. Swap the magenta alone — a staffer can do it between classes — and leave black, cyan and yellow to finish their rated lives. Changing all four because one is empty wastes the toner remaining in the other three.
How fast can a replacement set get to us mid-term?

I haven't had a problem with them. i don't look at the print copy under a magnifying glass but it looks fine to me. Use it for everything including resumes.
