Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this the "Ultra" cartridge instead of just another high-yield one?

The MLT-D203U is the top step of a four-tier ladder for this platform, sitting above the standard MLT-D203S, the high-yield MLT-D203L and the extra-high-yield MLT-D203E. Its rating is 15,000 pages, the most any cartridge in this family delivers, so the practical difference is changeovers: an office that swaps standard cartridges every few weeks can go months between swaps on this tier, and each avoided swap is one less pause in the middle of a workday.

How much does one printed page cost with this cartridge?

At $55.53 for a rated 15,000 pages, the toner works out to roughly 0.37 cents per page at standard coverage. That per-page figure is the honest way to judge it, because it folds the yield into the price — a cartridge that costs less up front but holds a fraction of the toner almost always costs more for every page that comes off the printer.

Which Samsung printer takes this cartridge?

This supply is built for the Samsung SL-M4020ND, the networked workgroup printer in the ProXpress line. If your machine carries a different model badge, compare the code on the cartridge you are pulling out with MLT-D203U before ordering — the tiers in this family look alike on the shelf but are sold under separate codes.

Should I expect a full 15,000 pages in real office use?

The rating is measured at about five percent page coverage, roughly a page of ordinary text. Dense reports, forms with shaded blocks and graphics-heavy handouts will finish the cartridge sooner, while plain letters and memos often come close to the rating. Your printer's own page counter over a couple of months tells you more about your workload than any label can.

Does it pair with a separate imaging drum?

Yes — this platform keeps toner and imaging in separate units, and the matching drum is the MLT-R203. They wear on independent schedules, so a fresh MLT-D203U does not call for a new drum. If output stays faint or streaked after a cartridge change, the drum is the part to look at, not a second toner.

What protection comes with the purchase?

This compatible cartridge carries a one-year warranty from Clever Supplies, and if it lets you down inside that first year, returns are free as well. The full wording lives on our shipping and returns page, and a person on the support team can walk you through a claim Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
