Compatible Okidata MB480 Laser Toner Cartridge Black fade-resistant pigment for professional laser documents with lasting impact.
Okidata MB480 Toner cartridge in black color yields approximately 3500 pages print. Toner cartridge produces high quality reliable printing in your home or office.
A good rule is to reorder when you open your last cartridge. This 43979101 is rated at 3,500 pages, so if your MB480 prints around 100 pages a week, a fresh cartridge gives you roughly 8 months of cover — plenty of time — but at 200 pages a day the same cartridge is gone in under a month. Matching the reorder point to your actual weekly volume is what prevents the mid-job empty cartridge.
What is the real cost of running the MB480 on this cartridge?
Simple arithmetic: $27.70 divided by 3,500 rated pages is about 0.79 cents per page. A 500-page month therefore costs around $3.96 in toner, and even a heavy 2,000-page month only reaches about $15.84. Few office supplies are easier to budget.
Does the 3,500-page rating assume a certain kind of page?
Yes — page yields are rated at 5% coverage, which is a normal page of text. Pages with big bold headings, shaded forms or graphics use more toner per sheet, so your real count will land lower if most of your MB480 output looks like that. Light memo-style printing can land slightly above the rating.
How do I store a spare cartridge properly?
Keep it sealed in its bag, lying flat, in a cool spot out of direct sunlight. Stored that way, a spare 43979101 waits on the shelf without degrading, ready for the two-minute swap when the installed cartridge fades. Avoid garages and boiler rooms — heat is the enemy.
What if the cartridge is faulty when I install it?
It is backed by a 1-year warranty and a full year of free returns, so a defective or early-failing cartridge goes back without return shipping on you. The steps are laid out on our shipping and returns page, and our team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
Which warehouse will my cartridge come from?
Whichever of our four — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to your delivery address. Orders are dispatched regionally so MB480 owners are not waiting on a cross-country shipment for a $27.70 cartridge.
