Frequently Asked Questions

Why do offices stock this cartridge four at a time?

Because this platform's printers tend to multiply. One compact HP on reception, one in the back office, one in accounts — all taking the same CE285A. A four-pack keeps a working buffer for the whole fleet, turns toner into a quarterly order, and means the person who finds a printer fading is never the person who has to solve it.

What is in the box, exactly?

Four CE285A black cartridges, individually sealed, each rated at 1,600 pages at standard coverage. They fit the full compact family — the LaserJet M1132, the P1102 and P1102W, the M1212nf and M1217nfw and the Pro versions of the same machines. Every cartridge in the carton is the complete standard unit; there are no partial or shared supplies.

Can one pack really serve three different printers?

Yes. The platform was designed around a single supply, so a cartridge from this pack fits any machine whose empty is stamped CE285A. Offices commonly keep the pack in one supply cabinet and let each printer draw from it as needed — the simplest possible stock system, with one code to reorder and no per-printer shelves.

How should four cartridges be stored and rotated?

Flat, sealed in their bags and boxes, in a cool dry cabinet away from heat sources and sunlight. Mark the delivery month on the carton when it arrives, and when a fresh pack lands later, place it behind the existing stock so the oldest cartridges are always installed first. Rotation costs nothing and keeps every unit in its prime.

One cartridge from the pack printed faintly from the day it went in. What now?

First, take it out and rock it gently side to side — settled toner mimics a fault. If the pages stay faint, treat it as a faulty unit: it is covered by the 1-year warranty and the 1-year free returns on our shipping and returns page, and it is handled individually, without sending back the rest of the pack.

How does delivery and support work on a stock-up order?

The pack ships from whichever of our warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to you, and questions are answered by our team Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This CE285A Black Toner Cartridge 4 Pack

Four standard CE285A cartridges at $51.53 — the 85A family, each rated at 1,600 pages — for offices running HP's compact LaserJet platform in more than one room. It is the supply-cabinet size: a full buffer for a small fleet in a single carton.

Within the HP compatible range, this is the pack for buyers who have stopped ordering reactively. One code, one shelf, four cartridges deep — and a printer running dry becomes a two-minute errand instead of an emergency purchase.
