WF-7720 Ink — 252XL, Stated Precisely

Epson's 252XL compatibility list, which includes the WF-7720 by name — two tiers, no more: standard 252 (black up to 350 pages, colours up to 300 each) and high-capacity 252XL — T252XL120 / T252XL220 / T252XL320 / T252XL420 — at up to 1,100 pages per cartridge, DURABrite Ultra pigment ink, rated on the ISO/IEC 24711 pattern. Our shelf carries the XL tier in singles, a Set of 4 and a black-heavy Set of 9, because the compatible ladder for this family is built on XL.

On the 254XL: this wide-format model's own datasheet confirmation for the extra-high-capacity black is still pending in our verification file, unlike its WF-7710 sibling — so no 254XL claim is made here. Proven compatibility only, stated plainly: 252 standard and the 252XL tier we stock, nothing beyond the evidence. What this page does claim is complete — every cartridge below is verified for this printer, at the family's full XL rating.

Which 252XL should you buy?

One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black ($13.49), cyan, magenta and yellow ($11.99 each), every cartridge rated up to 1,100 pages.
Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($44.94) replaces all four positions in one box.
Print every week: the Set of 9 ($80.87) stocks three blacks and two of each colour — the pattern office printing actually consumes.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip, so the WF-7720 reads its ink levels normally; a one-time on-screen confirmation is the printer checking a non-Epson cartridge, not an error. The ink is DURABrite Ultra pigment: prints come out dry to the touch and resist water and highlighter smudging — the right behaviour for office documents. If a firmware update ever precedes a recognition warning, reseat the cartridge and restart before judging it. Keep spares sealed until install day; the lifetime warranty stands behind every cartridge, with free returns for the first year.
