Frequently Asked Questions

One cartridge in the printer, one on the shelf — what does that spare actually buy us?

Continuity. A small mono laser never runs dry at a convenient moment; it fades on the day the invoices are due. With a second 310-6640 already in the building, the swap takes two minutes and the reorder happens calmly afterwards, against an empty shelf rather than a stopped printer. For a one-printer office, that is the entire argument for the 2-pack, and it is a sound one.

How does the 2-pack price break down?

Two cartridges for $59.48 is $29.74 per cartridge, against $38.99 bought singly — a saving of $18.50 across the pair, and a toner cost of about 1.49 cents per page instead of 1.95. Nothing about the cartridges changes; the discount is purely the arithmetic of buying the second unit in the same order.

Are both cartridges in the pack the same?

Yes — two identical compatible 310-6640 black cartridges, each rated at up to 2,000 pages, each carrying its own cover. There is no "main" unit and lesser spare; whichever you fit first is the working cartridge and the other waits, sealed, until its turn.

How far does 4,000 pages actually stretch?

For a desk-side Dell 1100 printing a few hundred pages a month, two cartridges are the better part of a year — at 250 pages a month, around sixteen months of printing bought in one order. That horizon is precisely why the pack suits steady users and not occasional ones: the rating is generous, but so is the timescale over which a light user would spend it.

How should the spare be stored until its turn?

Sealed in its packaging, lying flat, in a dry cupboard away from sunlight and radiators. Toner cartridges are not perishable in any short-term sense, but heat and light are their enemies over months. Fit the cartridges in the order they arrived, and write the purchase date on the box if your shelf holds stock for more than one machine.

What if one of the two cartridges is faulty?

Each cartridge is covered individually by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so one bad unit goes back on its own without disturbing the other — the terms are on our shipping & returns page. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the pack ships from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
