Frequently Asked Questions

Several of us print to the same 3000cn — how does that change how a set gets used?

A shared printer burns through black much faster than color, because most office jobs are text. Expect the black 310-5726 to empty first while the cyan 310-5731, magenta 310-5730 and yellow 310-5729 still have life in them. A four-cartridge set at $117.06 keeps the shelf stocked for the color changes too, so the printer is never waiting on a single-cartridge order placed in a hurry.

What is in the set, exactly?

Four high-yield cartridges for the Dell 3000cn: 310-5726 in black, 310-5731 in cyan, 310-5730 in magenta and 310-5729 in yellow. Each is rated at up to 4,000 pages, so the set holds 16,000 pages of cartridge capacity in total — though in practice the black will be consumed well ahead of the colors on a shared office machine.

What does the set work out to per cartridge?

$117.06 divided by four cartridges is about $29.27 each. For a networked printer serving a whole team, that is the number that matters: a single low-toner stoppage on a shared machine costs more in lost time than the small difference between compatible and branded cartridges ever saved anyone. Compatible pricing is what makes keeping a full spare set on the shelf an easy decision.

Are these Dell's own cartridges?

No, this is a compatible set from a third-party manufacturer, built to the same part-number specification as the Dell originals — same 310-5726, 310-5731, 310-5730 and 310-5729 cartridges, same 4,000-page ratings. The printer sees the cartridges it was designed for; your accounts see a lower invoice.

What happens if a cartridge fails mid-set?

Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, individually — a faulty cyan does not require sending the whole set back. Reach us Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and see our shipping & returns page for the full terms.

How far ahead should a shared office plan its toner?

On a busy shared 3000cn, a 4,000-page black cartridge can go in a matter of weeks. The sensible pattern is one set in the printer and, if the machine is critical, a spare black on the shelf. Orders leave from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, so a replacement ordered when the low warning appears normally arrives before the old cartridge truly gives out.
