Frequently Asked Questions

Which magenta does the marketing department's M855xh need?

The Color LaserJet M855xh uses the CF313A magenta — this cartridge, the magenta of the HP 826A family. The code is the one on the printer's supplies screen and on the label of the magenta unit in the machine, so a supply list built from either source points at this listing.

Our brand reds look different from one week to the next — is magenta drifting?

That is precisely what a depleting magenta does. Red is magenta plus yellow, and as magenta thins out over days, reds slide gradually toward orange and then brown — slowly enough that each day's output looks acceptable, but a sheet from Monday next to a sheet from Friday tells the story. When brand color consistency matters, magenta gets replaced at the low warning, not at empty.

Should the spare magenta live at the machine or in a central store?

At the machine, if there is a lockable cabinet — a high-capacity departmental printer should never wait on an internal delivery while a client proof sits unfinished. Keep it sealed, flat and away from heat, and let the central store hold the deeper backup. One at the machine, one in the store, reordered when the machine's spare goes in: that rotation keeps the xh covered without overstocking.

Why does magenta move faster here than in the rest of the building?

Because marketing prints magenta's favorite subjects: brand graphics, promotional pages, photo proofs and presentation covers, all at coverages far above the five percent behind the 31,500-page rating. The cartridge is not underperforming — the work is simply magenta-dense, and a marketing floor should budget this color as its fastest-moving supply.

How do we change the magenta on the xh?

Front door open, old cartridge out by its handle, new CF313A unpacked with its seal and guards removed, slid in until it clicks, door closed. After calibration, print the brand sheet or proof you know best — on a marketing machine, the familiar page is the fastest confirmation that reds are back where they belong.

What happens if the cartridge is defective?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and our shipping and returns policy gives 1-year free returns, so a defective unit is exchanged without cost to the department. We ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This M855xh Magenta Cartridge

A marketing department's xh is judged by one thing: whether the red on the proof matches the red on the brand sheet. Magenta is the cartridge that decides that, and it is consumed by exactly the work the department exists to print.

Priced at $151.71, this compatible CF313A holds the full 31,500-page rated yield. Replaced on schedule rather than on failure, it keeps the department's signature color boringly, reliably identical week after week.
