Frequently Asked Questions

The cartridge I pulled from our M533X is stamped CF360X — is this the same one?

Yes. The black slot of the Color LaserJet M533X takes the CF360X, the black cartridge of the HP 508X family. This listing is that single cartridge at $54.43. Match the stamp on the cartridge you removed, not the name on a purchasing list, and the replacement is settled in one step.

How far does one cartridge go in a high-volume M533X?

Each CF360X is rated at up to 12,500 pages. The M533X is built for heavy monochrome traffic, so a busy unit can work through that rating faster than the calendar suggests — offices running daily report batches and mailing runs should treat 12,500 pages as a few months of black, not a year's worth.

Long print runs start out bold and fade toward the end. Why?

That pattern points to a cartridge running low rather than a printer fault. As the toner supply thins, coverage gets lighter page by page. Swap in a fresh CF360X and the first pages of the next run should come out as bold as the first pages of the last one did when that cartridge was new.

Only black is empty. Do the color cartridges have to come out too?

No. Each cartridge on this platform is its own sealed unit in its own slot. The black cartridge lifts out and the new one seats in its place while the color cartridges stay exactly where they are, untouched and still good for the pages left in them.

What does the M533X's supply page call this cartridge?

The machine refers to the black slot by its part number, CF360X — the same code printed on this box and on the Color LaserJet M533X supply list. If the supply page and the cartridge stamp agree on CF360X, you are holding the right replacement.

What if the cartridge is damaged in transit or fails early?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the details live on our shipping and returns page.

About This CF360X Black Cartridge for the Color LaserJet M533X

Some printers earn their keep on one job: black documents, in volume, every day. This compatible CF360X is the black supply for that job on the M533X — a 12,500-page cartridge at $54.43 that keeps pace with an Enterprise machine's duty cycle. It is part of the wider HP 508X family, so the same cartridge also serves the shelf if your fleet mixes M533X units with other Enterprise models. Buy it by the part number, seat it in the black slot, and get back to printing.
