Frequently Asked Questions

What is inside this 2 Black Set?

Two CF360X black cartridges — the black member of HP's 508X family — each one an individual cartridge rated at 12,500 pages, boxed together for $90.36. There is nothing reformulated about them: it is the same cartridge the single listing sells, supplied as a working pair — one to run, one to keep in reserve.

Why stock two blacks for a single printer?

Because black is always the first slot to empty on these machines. Text documents, copies and faxes all draw on black while the colors wait, so the black cartridge's turn comes around two or three times before a color needs attention. A pair on hand means that moment is a quick swap, not an emergency order.

How should we rotate the pair?

Run one cartridge until the machine calls it done, keep the second sealed until that day, then reorder when the spare goes in. That rhythm — installed, sealed spare, reorder on swap — keeps a printer covered indefinitely with never more than one cartridge aging on the shelf.

Will the second cartridge still be good months from now?

Yes, if it stays sealed. Toner cartridges do not dry out; stored flat at room temperature, away from sunlight and heat, the spare keeps its full 12,500-page capacity until the day it is opened. Rock it gently side to side before installing so the toner inside lies even.

Do both cartridges fit the same printers as the single CF360X?

They are the same cartridge, so yes — every machine whose supply list names CF360X, from the Color LaserJet M533X through the M552, M553 and M577 models. A pair bought for one machine can cover another in the family if priorities change.

Are both cartridges covered if one fails?

Both carry the 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, including the sealed spare. Orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST — see the shipping and returns page for details.

About This HP 508X 2 Black Set (CF360X)

This set exists for a simple reason: on a color Enterprise machine, black is not one supply among four — it is the supply. The pair of compatible CF360X cartridges at $90.36 keeps the hardest-working slot in your HP printer covered through two full cycles, so documents, copies and faxes never pause while a replacement crosses the country. One in the machine, one on the shelf, reorder when they trade places.
