Frequently Asked Questions
Does copying on this multifunction draw from the same cartridges as printing?
Yes — copying, printing and fax output all come off the same four toner cartridges. That catches offices out: a machine bought mainly as a copier can work through toner at print-like rates, and a copying-heavy week shows up in the levels just as a print run does. Scanning, by contrast, uses no toner at all, so scan-to-email workflows never touch your stock.
What cartridges does this set put in the machine?
A complete group of four: 106R01455 in the black position, 106R01452 for cyan, 106R01453 for magenta and 106R01454 for yellow. Together they are the only toner supplies the multifunction consumes, so one box restores the machine to a full set of positions with nothing left to chase down afterwards.
We mostly copy in black and white — why do the colors still drop?
Grayscale copying is not purely a black-cartridge job. The machine lays down small amounts of color toner to build rich, even grays, and it also runs periodic calibration cycles that touch every cartridge. So the colors fall slowly even in a monochrome-leaning office — slowly enough to surprise you months later, which is why a full set rather than a lone black is the sensible restock.
How far does each cartridge go?
The black is rated at up to 3,100 pages and the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges at up to 2,500 pages each, at 5% coverage. Copied pages count the same as printed ones against those figures, and dense originals — photographs, shaded forms, heavy logos — use noticeably more toner per page than plain typed documents.
Which models take this set?
The Phaser 6128MFP and its networked sibling, the 6128MFP/N. Both are the same multifunction underneath — print, copy, scan and fax in one unit — and both consume this identical four-code group, so the set is correct whichever badge your machine wears.
What are the warranty, returns and delivery terms?
A 1-year warranty and free returns for one year are included, with the complete terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, routed from the closest stocking location, and the support desk is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
