Frequently Asked Questions

The SP 3400N only holds one cartridge — why would I buy two at once?

Because the second one is not for the printer, it is for the shelf. When the installed cartridge fades mid-job, a spare in the drawer means a two-minute swap instead of a paused office and a rush order. On a machine this size, the real cost of running out is never the toner — it is the invoice, label or contract that could not print when it was needed.

What do I actually save with the two-pack?

Two singles would cost $87.60; this pack is $69.12, so you save $18.48 and pay $34.56 per cartridge instead of $43.80. That brings your cost down to roughly 0.69 cents per page across the pack's 10,000 pages. It is the smallest step up from a single, and for most SP 3400N owners it is the point where the math starts working in your favor.

Will the second cartridge go bad sitting in storage?

Not under normal conditions. Keep it sealed in its bag, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and it will be ready when you need it — toner is a dry powder, it does not dry out like ink. A desk drawer or supply shelf is fine. When the first cartridge runs out, install the spare and reorder at your leisure instead of under pressure.

Can I split this pack between two printers?

Yes. Each cartridge is individually sealed and works on its own, so one can go into each of two SP 3400N machines, or both can serve a single printer over time. There is no pairing or activation between the two cartridges — they are simply two standard 5,000-page cartridges in one box, sold together at a better per-cartridge price.

Is this the right cartridge for my machine?

This two-pack fits the Ricoh Aficio SP 3400N and replaces the Ricoh 406465 cartridge. The quickest check is the number on the cartridge you are replacing: if it says 406465, you have the right pack. Other SP-series printers take different cartridges, so if your model is not the SP 3400N, confirm your cartridge number before ordering.

What if one of the two cartridges turns out to be defective?

Each cartridge is covered on its own: our one-year warranty and one-year free returns apply per cartridge, so a problem with one does not mean sending back the whole pack or losing the good one. Details are on our shipping and returns page. Your order ships from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
