Frequently Asked Questions
Why keep a second cartridge on hand for a machine the whole department shares?
Because a shared copier never runs out at a convenient moment — it runs out during the board pack, the audit copies, or the end-of-month mailing. With the second cartridge from this 2-pack already in the supply cabinet, the fix is a two-minute swap by whoever is standing there, not an emergency order and a day of queued jobs. On a machine dozens of people rely on, that shelf spare is the cheapest uptime you can buy.
What does the 2-pack save compared with buying singles?
Two cartridges bought one at a time would cost $138.76; the 2-pack is $120.28, so you save $18.48 and each cartridge effectively costs $60.14. Across the pair's combined 48,000-page rating, that brings toner cost down to about 0.25 cents per page.
How far does 48,000 pages of toner actually go?
For a department producing around 5,000 pages a month across prints and copies, the pair covers roughly nine to ten months. A lighter group at 3,000 a month can stretch it well past a year, while a heavy 8,000-page operation will work through both cartridges in about six months. The day the second cartridge goes in is the natural moment to reorder.
Is the cartridge in this pack the standard one for the platform?
Yes — both units are the regular Ricoh 842124 black cartridge, simply boxed as a pair. That one cartridge serves the entire MP 2554/3054/3554 SP family — Aficio MP2554SP, Aficio MP3054SP and Aficio MP3554SP — and this listing carries the MP2554SP name, though the cartridge itself is not unique to that model.
Can the two cartridges be split between two machines?
Absolutely. Nothing ties the pair to a single device, so offices running two machines from this platform on the same floor often put one cartridge in each, or keep one installed and one as a shared spare. Either way, the pack discount applies the same.
How are warranty and returns handled on a pack like this?
Every cartridge in the pack is backed by our one-year warranty, and free returns run for a year from purchase — see our shipping & returns page for the full policy. We ship from IL, PA, GA, and CA warehouses, and our support team is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
