Frequently Asked Questions
Can this 2-pack be split across two machines on our floor?
That is one of its best uses. Since every copier in this family takes the same cartridge, the pair can go one-and-one into two different machines, or both can feed a single busy unit with one as its spare. The $18.48 pack saving applies either way — nothing about the discount depends on the cartridges ending up in the same device.
What does each cartridge cost in this pack?
The pair is $120.28, so $60.14 apiece against $69.38 bought singly — a saving of $18.48 across the two. In per-page terms, the pack brings toner to roughly 0.25 cents per rated page.
How much printing does the pair cover for a two-machine floor?
Combined, the cartridges are rated at 48,000 pages. Split between two machines each handling about 2,500 pages a month, that is roughly nine to ten months before either needs attention again; concentrated in one heavier machine at 6,000 pages a month, it lasts about eight months. Either way, the pack turns toner into a twice-a-year errand instead of a recurring one.
Is this the same cartridge the rest of the platform uses?
It is the standard Ricoh 842124 black cartridge, identical to the single — the 2-pack is purely a packaging and pricing difference. That cartridge supports the full departmental platform, Aficio MP2554SP, Aficio MP3054SP and Aficio MP3554SP, and this listing's MP2554SP title names just one member of that family.
How should the spare be stored until it is needed?
Keep it sealed in its box, stored flat in a normal office cabinet away from direct sun and heat sources. Toner is a dry powder, so a sealed cartridge waits patiently for months without degrading; a simple first-in, first-out habit keeps stock rotating sensibly across a fleet.
How do returns work if we stock for several machines?
Both cartridges are covered by a one-year warranty with free returns during that year — details are on our shipping & returns page. We dispatch from IL, PA, GA, and CA, and support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
