Also fits: This cartridge also fits the Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 — the same machines also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names. Ricoh's rated yields for this platform are 31,000 pages for black and 19,000 pages for each color.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of printing uses up cyan the fastest?

Anything blue-heavy: charts and slide decks with blue bars and backgrounds, company logos in corporate blue, and photos with a lot of sky or water. A week of presentation printing can move the cyan gauge more than a month of memos. If your office lives in PowerPoint, cyan is usually the first color to go.

Why do blues and greens start looking washed out before the machine complains?

Color cartridges fade gradually rather than stopping all at once, and cyan is the foundation under blues and half of every green. As it thins out, blues drift pale and greens lose their depth while text still looks fine. Treat that color shift as your early warning — the panel percentage will confirm what your eyes are already telling you.

Why is this cartridge rated 19,000 pages when the black one is rated 31,000?

The color cartridges in this family are simply rated lower than the black one — 19,000 pages each at the standard 5% coverage, versus 31,000 for black. At $108.64 that puts cyan at roughly 0.57 cents per rated page. Graphics-heavy pages cover far more than 5%, so real-world life on presentation work will be shorter than the rating suggests.

Is this cyan cartridge tied to the IMC3000 only?

No — the listing names one model, but this 842254 cyan cartridge fits the whole Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 platform, and every machine in that family uses the same color cartridges. If your printer belongs to that platform, this is the correct cyan regardless of which model name appears in the listing title.

If the cyan runs completely empty, can we keep printing in black and white?

In most office setups, yes — monochrome printing and copying generally continue with an empty color cartridge, while color jobs wait for the replacement. That gives you a working printer for everyday documents while the new cyan ships. Just do not leave it empty for weeks if you rely on color output for client work.

How are returns handled on a color cartridge like this?

Simply: you have a full year of free returns, and the cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty — details live on our shipping and returns page. If the cartridge fails early or prints poorly from the start, contact support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST and we will make it right.
