Also fits: This cartridge also fits the Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 — the same machines also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names. Ricoh's rated yields for this platform are 31,000 pages for black and 19,000 pages for each color.

Frequently Asked Questions

The machine only holds one black cartridge at a time — why order two?

Because the second one is your insurance against a stopped workgroup. When the installed cartridge runs dry mid-week, a shelf spare turns a multi-day wait for delivery into a two-minute swap. Black is the cartridge this platform leans on for text, copies and faxes, so it is the one most likely to empty at an inconvenient moment.

How much does the 2-pack actually save?

Two singles bought separately cost $172.74; this pack is $154.24, so you save $18.50 and pay $77.12 per cartridge instead of $86.37. Across the pack's combined 62,000 rated pages, that pulls the cost down to roughly 0.25 cents per page. It is the same cartridge — the discount is purely for buying the spare at the same time.

Can one 2-pack supply two different machines?

Yes. Nothing ties the two cartridges to a single printer, and offices running two machines from this platform on the same floor often split a pack between them. Just note which machine got which cartridge if you track usage per device, and keep the second one sealed until the day it is installed.

Is this the same cartridge as the single, and does it fit the whole platform?

It is exactly the same 842251 black cartridge, simply packed two to a box. The listing is titled for the IMC3000, but the cartridge serves the entire Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 platform — any machine in that family takes it. You are not buying a different or lesser version by choosing the pack.

Will the spare cartridge go bad sitting on the shelf?

Sealed toner cartridges store well for a long time in a cool, dry cabinet away from direct sunlight — toner is a dry powder, so there is nothing to dry out the way liquid ink can. Use the older cartridge first when you restock, and the spare will perform the same as the one you install today. Avoid garages and boiler rooms, where heat is the real enemy.

What if one cartridge in the pack turns out to be faulty?

You are covered either way: the pack carries our one-year warranty, and returns stay free for a year from purchase under the policy on our shipping and returns page. A problem with one cartridge does not force you to send back the good one. Support is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
