Frequently Asked Questions

The AC205 only holds one cartridge — why buy two at once?

Because the second one is not for the machine, it is for the shelf. When a single-cartridge printer runs dry mid-job, everything stops until a delivery arrives. With a sealed spare next to the machine, the swap takes two minutes and work continues. The two-pack also brings the per-cartridge price down to $50.86 against $60.10 bought singly — $18.49 saved across the pair — so the spare that prevents a stoppage actually costs less than the single you would panic-order later.

How many pages do we get from the pair?

Each cartridge is rated at 5,000 pages, so the two-pack covers 10,000 pages in total. How long that stretches depends on your volume: a desk printing 300 pages a month is looking at close to three years of supply, while a busier office at 1,000 pages a month will use the pair in about ten months. Ratings assume roughly 5% coverage, so text-heavy printing tracks the estimate closely and graphics-heavy printing finishes sooner.

Will the second cartridge go stale sitting in a cupboard?

Kept sealed in its bag, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, a toner cartridge keeps well for a long shelf period — toner is a dry powder, it does not dry out like ink. The habits that matter are simple: leave the seal intact until install day, do not store it upright on end, and use the older cartridge first when you reorder. If you date the box when it arrives, rotation takes care of itself.

Which machines does this two-pack fit?

Both cartridges in this pack are built for Ricoh AC205. The AC205 carries one black cartridge at a time, so the second unit is purely a reserve — there is no color set or second slot involved. If the front panel of your machine reads AC205, both cartridges in this box are the correct fit for it.

Can the two cartridges be split between two printers?

Yes. Nothing about the pack ties the cartridges together — if two desks each run an AC205, one cartridge can go to each machine and both still get the lower $50.86 unit price. Each cartridge is also covered individually: if one of the two ever fails, its warranty is handled on its own and the other cartridge is unaffected.

What does the warranty and returns cover look like?

Both cartridges carry our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns for compatible cartridges. A defective unit — leaking, streaking, or dying well short of its rated pages — is replaced or refunded; details are set out on our shipping & returns page. Orders leave from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Ricoh AC205 2-Pack

This two-pack pairs two compatible black cartridges for the Ricoh AC205, 5,000 pages each, 10,000 pages in total, for $101.71 — $50.86 per cartridge, $18.49 less than buying the same two singly. The logic of the pack is uptime rather than bulk for its own sake: one cartridge working in the machine, one sealed spare beside it, so a low-toner surprise never turns into a stopped office. Every cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns from Clever Supplies.
