Frequently Asked Questions

What does an empty MX521ade actually cost a department?

Not the price of a cartridge — the price of a queue. Print jobs stack up, walk-up copying stops, and staff start routing work to whatever machine still breathes, usually a slower one. A two-pack exists to delete that scenario: the moment one cartridge runs dry, its twin is already in the building.

How much does the pair save over buying singly?

The math is simple and we keep it that way: two singles cost $349.88, this pack is $331.40, so $18.48 stays in your budget and each cartridge lands at $165.70 for its 6,000 rated pages — 12,000 pages across the pack. It is a modest step-down, paired with the operational value of always having the next cartridge on hand.

Can one pack serve two different machines or sites?

Yes, and fleets do this routinely. The 56F1000 fits the whole platform — MS321DN, MS421DN, MS421DW, MS521DN, MS621DN, MX321ADN, MX521ADE and MX521DE — so although this listing names the MX521ade, the two cartridges can be split between any pair of machines on that list, or kept together as a working cartridge plus its spare.

One in the machine, one in the cabinet — how should the rotation run?

Let the cabinet cartridge be the reorder trigger: when it moves into the machine, the next order goes in the same day. Store it sealed and flat, near the machine rather than in a distant stockroom, so the swap takes minutes. Date-marking the box keeps first-in, first-out automatic when more stock arrives.

Where exactly should the spare live?

In the same room as the printer, in a dry cupboard away from radiators, direct sun, and steamy kitchen or cleaning areas. Toner is a dry powder and tolerates normal office conditions for a long shelf life, but heat and humidity are the two things that age any cartridge early.

If something goes wrong, what support do we get?

Both cartridges carry a one-year warranty, with free returns throughout the first year under the process on our shipping and returns page. Real people answer questions Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from IL, PA, GA, or CA — whichever warehouse puts it closest to you.
