Frequently Asked Questions

• What is in this set of 4?

The box holds: C4906AN (2,200 pages), C4907AN (1,400 pages), C4908AN (1,400 pages), C4909AN (1,400 pages). Each cartridge is individually sealed.

• Which printers does this set fit?

The set fits OfficeJet Pro 8000, OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless, OfficeJet Pro 8000 Enterprise, OfficeJet Pro 8500 and 5 more. The complete verified list is in the Compatible Printers section on this page.

• Which printers still use HP 940?

The OfficeJet Pro 8000 and OfficeJet Pro 8500 generations — business printers built with separate ink tanks and printheads in the printer. The family is discontinued by HP, which is exactly why a compatible supply matters for machines still in daily service.

• Are all the cartridges in this set chipped?

Yes. Every cartridge in the set carries a new compatible chip that reports its own ink level to the printer.

• Set or singles — which is better value?

Yes — the set is priced below the same cartridges bought one by one, and one box restocks every slot at once. Check the per-cartridge yields above against your usage.

• Can I fit one cartridge now and keep the rest sealed?

Yes. Open and install only the colour the printer asks for, and keep the rest sealed — they store fine for when their turn comes.

• A warning appeared after fitting this cartridge — how do I clear it?

Acknowledge the message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks and restart the printer. Most warnings are a one-time notice that a non-original cartridge was fitted.

• Is this set made by HP?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible set built to the original HP specifications and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP.

• Is the printhead included?

No — on this family the printheads (940 printheads) live in the printer. These are ink tanks only, which is why they carry more ink per cartridge.

• Am I covered if just one cartridge in the box is bad?

Contact us with the colour and the problem — the lifetime warranty covers each cartridge in the set individually, so a single faulty cartridge is replaced on its own.

• Which cartridge in the set runs out first?

It depends on what you print: text-heavy use drains the black first, photo and graphics work drains the colours. Each cartridge reports its own level, and the spares from this set store sealed until their slot asks for them.

• What is the right way to store the sealed cartridges?

Sealed, upright and at room temperature, away from sunlight. Install each cartridge only when the printer asks for that colour.
