• How many pages does the HP 7FP20TN print?

  HP rates the 7FP20TN at about 120 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 test conditions, printing standard pages at around 5% coverage. Your own count will move with coverage, paper and settings — dense colour pages use far more ink than plain text.

• Which printers take the 7FP20TN?

• Black or tri-color — do I need both?

  The printer needs both slots filled to print. The black cartridge prints text; the tri-color holds cyan, magenta and yellow in one body — when one colour runs out, the tri-color cartridge is replaced as a unit.

• Where is the printhead on this cartridge?

  Built into the cartridge itself. Every swap fits a fresh printhead, which is why a new cartridge often clears streaks and missing colours that cleaning cycles could not fix on these models.

• Standard or XL — which should I buy?

  This is the standard-yield cartridge, rated at about 120 pages. If you print every week, the XL version of the same colour works out cheaper per page; for a lightly used printer, this size avoids ink sitting unused.

• Is the 7FP20TN pigment or dye ink?

  It is dye-based ink, matching the original 7FP20TN: colours are vivid and blend smoothly, which is what these printers are tuned for.

• Does this cartridge have a chip?

  Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer, so the low-ink warnings keep working. It is not a refilled original shell with a reset chip.

• My printer shows a warning after installing — what do I do?

  Acknowledge the on-screen message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks, and restart the printer. If the warning persists, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall. This family runs HP dynamic security: the printer checks the cartridge chip, and HP firmware updates can change what is accepted. Our cartridges carry a new compatible chip built for these models; if a future HP firmware update ever blocks a cartridge, the lifetime warranty covers you — contact us and we will put it right.

• Will this work if my printer uses HP+?

  if your printer was set up with HP+, it accepts original HP cartridges only — that lock is part of the HP+ program and applies to every non-original cartridge, ours included. On printers that are not HP+-locked, these cartridges install and print as normal.
