Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the cartridge for my printer?

Check the code, not the casing. Take out the cartridge that is in the machine now and read its label: if it says W1480A — the 148A — this single cartridge is the same part. That one check settles it before you spend anything. Checking the code rather than the casing is exactly right: the code identifies the one cartridge that serves the 4001dn, 4001dw, 4002dn, 4101fdn and 4101fdw.

What do I receive for $59.69?

One black 148A cartridge, sealed in its protective bag inside a single carton. Nothing else is required — no kit, no second box — it drops straight into the printer it was ordered for.

How long will 2,900 pages last a home bookkeeping setup?

For client statements, reconciliation reports and tax-season print runs, 2,900 pages is months of ordinary home-office work, with busier spells around filing deadlines. Pages heavy with tables spend more toner than short letters, so think of the rating as a measuring stick rather than a date on the calendar.

Does toner go off if the printer sits idle between clients?

No. Toner is a dry powder, not a liquid, so a quiet month at the printer does not spoil it the way ink can dry in a nozzle. A cartridge that printed well in spring prints the same after a slow summer.

How do I fit the new cartridge?

Raise the top cover, slide the old cartridge out, and unpack the fresh one. Rock it gently from side to side, take off the packing materials, push it in until it seats, and close the cover. The printer is ready again in about two minutes.

What if something is wrong with the cartridge?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a faulty unit is replaced or refunded. And if you would rather talk it through first, our support team is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This 148A Single Cartridge

This single W1480A cartridge is the order-as-you-go option for a wireless HP LaserJet Pro 4001dw working from a home office: one black cartridge rated at 2,900 pages, checked from the laptop by its supply gauge and replaced in minutes when it fades. At $59.69 it fits a one-printer practice that has no shelf for bulk stock and no need of it. If tax season turns into a year-round load, the high-yield 148X (W1480X) single absorbs it with fewer changes.

Orders are sent from the nearest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA; the shipping & returns page covers delivery times in full, and everything else stocked for this printer family is gathered under HP in the catalogue.
