Read the family name carefully first: the 68 is not the high-capacity version of the 60. It is the high-capacity black of Epson's later 69 platform — a DURABrite Ultra pigment cartridge, code T068120 (label code T0681) — and it fits none of the 60 family's printers. What makes this cartridge unusual is that its fit list is a per-model question, answered in Epson's own support FAQs model by model. The eight models verified for this black are: Stylus C120, CX6000, CX7000F, NX400 and NX515, and WorkForce 500, 615 and 1100. On the C120 the 68 black is not an upgrade but a requirement — that printer takes no 69 black at all, and it holds two black cartridges at once, as does the WorkForce 1100. On the CX6000, CX7000F and NX400, Epson lists high capacity in black only; their colors stay standard 69. And one model refuses this cartridge outright: the Stylus NX200 cannot use the 68 black, even though it is a 69-platform printer.

The cartridge carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible cartridges of this generation — reseating the cartridge firmly resolves most cases, and the lifetime warranty stands behind it either way. No page yield is printed for T068120: no official Epson figure for the 68 cartridges could be verified from a manufacturer source, and this page does not borrow reseller numbers.
If your printer eats black cartridges, the shelf mate is the mixed Set of 14 — five of these 68 blacks with three each of the standard 69 colors, the configuration the verified models actually run. If your printer is a 60 model — a C68, C88 or CX7800, say — back out of this page: your black is the T060120, on the 60 shelf. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which printers does the T068120 black fit?
Eight models verified one by one in Epson's support FAQs and documentation: Stylus C120, CX6000, CX7000F, NX400 and NX515, plus WorkForce 500, 615 and 1100. Coverage of the remaining 69-platform models was not individually verified for the 68 black, so they are not listed — Epson's answers differ by model, and guessing helps no one.
Is the 68 the high-capacity version of the 60 black?
No — that pairing is a seller-listing error. The 68 is the high-capacity tier of the 69 platform. The 60 family has no high-capacity tier at all, and the 60 and 68/69 platforms share no printer model.
My printer is a Stylus C120. Is this the right black?
It is the only right black. The C120 does not accept the standard 69 black at all — Epson's FAQ for the model specifies the high-capacity 68 — and the printer holds two black cartridges at once, so a full change takes two of these singles, or the Set of 14 which stocks five.
Does it fit the Stylus NX200?
No. The NX200 is the platform's documented exception: Epson's FAQ for that model states the 68 black is not compatible, even though the printer takes 69 cartridges. Its black is the standard 69 only.
Does this cartridge have a chip?
Yes. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible cartridges of this generation — reseating the cartridge resolves most cases, and if it doesn't, contact us: the cartridge is covered by our lifetime warranty and 1-year free returns. We don't claim guaranteed recognition; we stand behind the cartridge instead.
How many pages does the high-capacity black print?
No figure is printed here. No official Epson yield rating for the 68 cartridges could be verified from a manufacturer source — Epson's pages for this generation no longer publish one we could confirm — and reseller numbers are not manufacturer ratings, so the field is left blank.
Are there high-capacity 68 color cartridges too?
Yes, genuine ones exist — T068220, T068320 and T068420 — but their reach is narrower than the black's: Epson lists 68 colors only for some models (WorkForce 500 and 615 and the NX515 among the verified ones), while the CX6000, CX7000F, NX400 and C120 take 69 colors only. We don't stock 68 color singles; the colors on our shelf for these printers are the standard 69 cartridges, including inside the Set of 14.
I have a WorkForce 1100. How many blacks do I need?
Two per full change. The 1100 runs two black cartridges simultaneously in two slots, so blacks deplete in pairs. One single refills one slot; the Set of 14 (five 68 blacks) is the natural shelf stock for this model.
Is the ink pigment or dye?
Pigment. The 68 sits on the DURABrite Ultra line, Epson's pigment ink family — sharp, fast-drying document text that resists smudging on plain paper.
My printer says the black is not recognized. What first?
Power off, remove the cartridge, confirm the chip contacts are clean and untouched, reseat until it clicks, and power back on. If the message arrived right after a firmware update, that timing is the likely cause — and the warranty covers the cartridge if the warning persists.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T068120 specification, labeled compatible on the box and this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.
Warranty and returns?
Lifetime warranty: a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced. Free returns apply within the first year.
