Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the second cartridge in this 2-pack add only $21.68 to the price?

One 331-8421 cartridge on its own is $40.17. This 2-pack is $61.85, so the second cartridge effectively costs $21.68 — a saving of $18.49 against buying two singles. That step is simply how the pack pricing is built: the per-cartridge price drops to $30.93 the moment you take two, which is why the 2-pack is the natural buy for anyone who already knows the C3760 will need the spare.

How many pages does the whole pack cover?

Each cartridge is rated at 9,000 black pages, so the pair covers up to 18,000 pages in total — about 0.34 cents per page across the pack. Coverage is the usual 5% rating basis, so heavier pages shorten that span in practice.

Are both cartridges in the box the same part?

Yes. Both are the Dell 331-8421 standard-yield black cartridge for the Color Laser C3760n and C3760dn — identical parts, not a black-plus-something bundle. Install one, keep the other sealed as the working spare, and the printer never waits on a delivery.

How should I store the spare cartridge?

Keep it in its sealed packaging, flat, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Toner cartridges tolerate normal office storage well; the main enemies are heat and a torn seal letting in humidity. Rotate by date if you hold more than one spare so the oldest goes in first.

Can I split the pack between two offices?

Yes — the two cartridges are individually boxed units of the same part, so one can stay at the C3760n in one location and the second can go to a C3760dn elsewhere. The saving compared with two separate single orders still applies because the pair was bought together.

What cover comes with this pack?

These are compatible cartridges backed by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, with the terms set out on the shipping and returns page. Stock ships from IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and the support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST; the full Dell toner range lists the matching supplies for other models.

About This Dell C3760 Black Toner 2 Pack (331-8421)

This pack holds two compatible 331-8421 black cartridges for the Dell Color Laser C3760n and C3760dn, rated at 9,000 pages each. At $61.85 it prices the second cartridge at $21.68 instead of $40.17, which suits a single machine that prints steadily: one cartridge works while the other waits, and reordering becomes a planned purchase instead of an emergency. It is also the tidy option for two C3760-family machines sharing one shelf stock, since both take exactly the same black cartridge.
