Frequently Asked Questions

Yellow is the cartridge nobody notices — can a high-yield one break that habit?

It stretches the habit's timeline considerably. Yellow fades without touching text, so its failure only shows when greens turn blue and photos go cold. The Canon 055H yellow (055HY) belongs to the family's high-yield class — a markedly longer-lasting cartridge — so that surprise moment arrives far less often, and a busy color printer can go a long stretch without anyone thinking about yellow at all.

Why choose this over the standard 055 yellow?

Both are $58.77 here, so the question is purely how your printer works. The standard Canon 055 yellow (055Y) is fine for occasional color. This 055HY is for machines where color is daily business: longer between swaps, longer between orders, and fewer pages spoiled by a quietly exhausted yellow that nobody spotted in time.

Our greens have turned the color of deep water — will this fix it?

If yellow is the spent cartridge — and blue-shifted greens with healthy-looking black text are its signature — then yes. Green is cyan plus yellow; take the yellow away and the mix drowns in blue. A fresh 055HY puts the warmth back. If the greens stay wrong afterward, look at the cyan next.

Is this cartridge made by Canon?

No — it is a compatible cartridge built to the Canon 055H yellow specification (055HY), sold under our own brand at $58.77. It installs the way the original does.

How quickly does it ship?

Orders are routed from whichever of our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California is closest to you, so delivery is typically a few business days. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

What cover does it come with?

A 1-year warranty and free returns across the whole first year — if the cartridge lets you down, returning it costs nothing. See our shipping and returns page for the full terms.
