Frequently Asked Questions

How does a $35.81 cartridge get printing down to about 0.30¢ a page?

It is simple division: the TN780 is rated at 12,000 pages, and $35.81 spread over 12,000 pages is roughly three-tenths of a cent each. The cartridge earns that figure by carrying an ultra high yield fill in a departmental printer — the kind of machine that turns yield into genuinely cheap pages.

What is the difference between the TN780 and the standard cartridge for these printers?

Capacity. The standard-yield cartridge for this platform is rated at 3,000 pages; the TN780 holds four times as much toner at 12,000 pages. That means a quarter of the cartridge changes, a quarter of the interruptions, and a far lower cost per page for the same printouts.

Will the TN780 fit my department's printer?

It is made for HL-6180DW, HL-6180DWT, MFC-8950DW and MFC-8950DWT, the Brother workgroup models designed around this cartridge family. If your machine currently takes a TN780, this drops straight in; if it uses a smaller cartridge from a different platform, it will not fit, so confirm the model on the compatibility list first.

Why does yield matter beyond the price per page?

Every cartridge change is a pause in a shared printer's day — and usually happens at the worst moment, mid-run. A 12,000-page cartridge stretches the gap between those moments to months even in a busy department, so the machine spends its time printing instead of waiting for supplies.

Is the 12,000-page rating realistic for our documents?

It is measured at the industry-standard 5% coverage — a typical text page. Departments printing dense forms, statements or graphics-covered pages will use toner faster and see fewer pages per cartridge. Even at half the rating, though, the cost stays under 0.60¢ per page.

What warranty and returns back this cartridge?

A full 1-year warranty, plus free returns for twelve months if the cartridge is faulty or not as described — the details live on our shipping and returns page. Orders are fulfilled from IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
