Frequently Asked Questions

Why pool black cartridges for a shared printer?

A workgroup printer burns black toner on everyone's behalf, and the person who hits the empty warning is never the person who ordered last time. A shared pool of two TN436BK cartridges ends that gap: one in the machine, one in the supply cabinet, both drawn from the same $44.88 purchase — $22.44 a cartridge.

How much black printing does the pool hold?

Each TN436BK is rated at 6,500 pages, so the pair covers 13,000 pages. On a shared machine printing a few hundred black pages a week, that is months of output before anyone needs to think about reordering — and the reorder point is obvious the day the second cartridge goes in.

Do both printers in our office need to be the same model?

They need to be on the same compatibility list: this pack serves the HL-L8360CDW, HL-L8360CDWT, HL-L9310CDW, HL-L9310CDWTT, MFC-L8900CDW, MFC-L9570CDW and MFC-L9570CDWT. If your second machine is one of those models too, the pool feeds both; if not, keep the pair dedicated to the printer they fit.

How does the pool price against two separate orders?

Two single TN436BK cartridges cost $63.36; the pack is $44.88, an $18.48 saving, and the per-page cost across the pair drops to about 0.35¢. One order instead of two also means one delivery to receive and one invoice to file.

What if the second cartridge sits in the cabinet for a long time?

That is exactly what it is for. Toner cartridges are dry powder, not liquid ink, so a sealed spare does not dry out or expire on any short clock. Store it flat, sealed, and away from heat, and it will be ready the morning the first cartridge gives out.

What happens if a cartridge from this pack fails early?

Both cartridges are covered by a 1-year warranty, and you can return within the first year at no cost — the policy is spelled out on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA, and CA, and support answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This TN436BK 2-Pack (Shared Printer Pool)

Two TN436BK cartridges bought as a working pool for a shared machine: 13,000 pages of black for $44.88, $18.48 less than the singles, at about 0.35¢ a page. The rule it creates is simple — when the reserve cartridge goes into the printer, that is the day to reorder.
