Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the L8900CDW's archive printing live or die by this cartridge?

Because archiving is black's purest job: contracts, records and files printed to be read in ten years need dense, even, permanent-looking text. This cartridge is rated up to 4,500 pages at $32.65 — about 0.73 cents per page — so a thousand-page archive run costs roughly seven dollars in toner and comes out uniform from first page to last.

Does this black serve other machines?

Yes, the whole platform family: HL-L8260CDW, HL-L8360CDW, HL-L8360CDWT, HL-L9310CDW, HL-L9310CDWT, HL-L9310CDWTT, MFC-L8610CDW, MFC-L8900CDW and MFC-L9570CDW One black across the range simplifies any office's shelf.

What does high-volume document work do to consumption?

It makes it predictable. Dense text pages track the 5% coverage rating closely, so a department printing 200 pages a day can schedule this cartridge's change almost to the week — about every four to five working weeks at that pace.

Why not archive on the starter cartridge the machine came with?

Starter units are typically lower-yield. This full cartridge's 4,500-page rating is the economical unit for record runs — fewer changes mid-archive, consistent density across the whole file.

If a cartridge fades before its rating, what then?

That is a warranty case, not a shrug: one-year warranty and one-year free returns on our shipping and returns page cover replacement or refund.

How should an office pace reorders for this machine?

Keep one sealed spare per machine and reorder when the spare goes in. At this machine's appetite, the warning-to-empty window can be days, not weeks — the spare is what makes the window irrelevant.
