Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly arrives when we order this set?

Four compatible cartridges covering every slot of the Canon 131 family, identified by Canon part number: 6273B001AA black, 6271B001AA cyan, 6270B001AA magenta and 6269B001AA yellow. Each is the full-size cartridge, sealed, ready to fit as the printer calls for it — all four at once, or one at a time.

We print colour proposals and invoices all week — how does this set map to that workload?

Invoices and letters draw almost entirely on the black, which here is the 2,400-page 131H (6273B001AA) — the family's high-capacity cartridge. Proposals and anything with charts or colour headings draw on the three colours, rated at 1,500 pages each. The set's shape follows that reality: the biggest reservoir sits behind the colour you use most.

What does the set cost per cartridge, honestly worked out?

$83.33 across four cartridges is about $20.83 each. The same four bought as singles are $34.70 apiece — $138.80 in total — so the set keeps $55.47 in your budget. Spread over the ratings, a black page works out near 0.87 cents and a colour cartridge's page near 1.39 cents.

Do the four cartridges need to be fitted together?

No. Fit the one the printer asks for and keep the rest sealed in the cupboard. Colours fitted at different times still produce normal mixed output, and a sealed spare loses nothing by waiting. Many offices fit the set across a month of warnings and never notice the difference.

How do we keep the spares in good condition until they are fitted?

Sealed, flat, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Toner is a dry powder and asks little: no heat sources nearby, no damp, and the bag unopened until fitting day. Rotate stock if you order ahead again, so the oldest set is always the next one used.

What happens if a cartridge from this set is faulty?

Every cartridge carries a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, set out on our shipping & returns page. Contact support Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM CST, describe the fault — a sample page helps — and we will put it right under the policy.
