Brother LC61 Ink For MFC-6490CW

MFC-6490CW

Most LC61 printers stop at the standard tier; the MFC-6490CW is one of four that go further. Brother's own LC65HY fit list names exactly four models — MFC-5890CN, MFC-5895CW, MFC-6490CW, MFC-6890CDW — and this is one of them, so its black rating doubles from 450 to 900 pages and each color rises from 325 to 750 when you choose the high-yield fill. Nothing about the slots changes: the tiers mix color by color.

The MFC-6490CW takes both tiers on this page, which makes the suffix the detail worth checking before a cartridge ever reaches the printer. Brother's high-yield codes end in HY — LC65HYBK, LC65HYC, LC65HYM, LC65HYY — while a listing shortened to 'LC65BK' is not using a Brother code at all. Keep that distinction in mind when a spare bought elsewhere is not recognized: check the code first, then the contact.
