Twenty-three models from one of Brother's longest-lived mono families: the DCP-8040, DCP-8045D and DCP-8045DN; the HL-5130, HL-5140, HL-5150D and HL-5170DN printers including their tray variants; and the MFC-8120, MFC-8220, MFC-8440, MFC-8640D and MFC-8840DN multifunctions. All share the DR510 drum unit and accept either this high-yield cartridge or the standard TN540BK. The newer HL-5240 generation looks similar but runs TN550/TN580 — those do not fit here.

Is there any downside to the high-yield cartridge?
