Brothers Drum for HL-5340DN 2 LT
This drum worked very well with my HL-5340DN 2 LT Printer. My printer is still considered new; however my old drum was stolen. This product was easy to install and did not have to be calibrated or anything. I am very happy with this purchase.

What does a 25,000-page drum life mean in real terms?
For an office printing around 500 pages a month, one DR620 drum lasts about four years. Even at 2,000 pages a month it covers roughly a year of output. The drum is the long-life part of the printer — you'll change the toner cartridge many times before this unit needs replacing.
Is this listing for a drum or a toner cartridge?
A drum. The DR620 is the imaging unit that transfers toner onto paper; it contains no toner itself. The toner cartridge is a separate part that sits inside the drum, and the two wear out on very different schedules — toner in thousands of pages, the drum in tens of thousands.
My printer says "Replace Drum." Can I just reset it and keep going?
You can reset the counter, but the drum surface keeps wearing, and the usual results are fading, background shading, and repeating marks. The warning appears because the unit has genuinely reached its rated life. A fresh drum restores the clean output the printer had when the drum was new.

Do I need to buy toner at the same time?
Only if your toner is also running low. When you swap drums, the toner cartridge comes out of the old unit and clicks into the new one, keeping whatever life it has left. Most drum changes reuse the toner already in the machine.
