Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this box hold two cartridges instead of one bigger one?

Because the Phaser 3435 was built around a single standard cartridge, the 106R01415, rated at 10,000 pages. This pack simply pairs two of those identical units: one goes into the printer today, the second waits sealed on the shelf as its replacement. There is no oversized or extended cartridge to gamble on — when the installed unit runs out, you swap in the spare in a couple of minutes and the printer is back at work the same morning, instead of sitting idle while a fresh order crosses the country.

What does each cartridge in the pair work out to?

The pack is $104.58 for the two cartridges, which is $52.29 per 106R01415 unit. Across the pair's combined 20,000 rated pages, the toner itself runs at about 0.52 cents per page. Those figures come only from this pack's own price and the cartridges' own ratings; the rating is measured at the industry-standard 5% coverage, so dense, graphic-heavy pages will use toner faster and pages of plain correspondence slower.

How long is a pair likely to last us?

On the rated basis, the two cartridges hold 20,000 pages between them. An office printing around 800 pages a month — invoices, letters, reports on a single shared machine — would take roughly two years to work through both. A busier desk at 2,000 pages a month finishes the pair in about ten months. Whichever pace sounds like yours, the second cartridge means the changeover moment is a shelf trip, not a purchase decision.

How should the waiting cartridge be stored while the first one is in the machine?

Keep it in its sealed bag, in its box, lying flat in a cool dry cupboard away from radiators and direct sunlight. Toner cartridges are not perishable in any hurry, but heat and damp do them no favours over a long wait. When the first unit's output starts to fade, take it out and rock it gently side to side a few times before reaching for the spare — settled toner often has hundreds of pages left in it, and there is no sense opening the new 106R01415 early.

Which printers does this pack fit?

It is made for the Phaser 3435 family: the Phaser 3435, the Phaser 3435D and the Phaser 3435DN. The three differ in duplexing and networking, but all of them take the same black cartridge — if the unit coming out of your machine is marked 106R01415, this is its replacement.

What happens if one of the two cartridges turns out to be faulty?

Each cartridge is covered on its own by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a unit that leaks, streaks or fails early is replaced or refunded individually — the good cartridge stays in your printer. Orders ship from whichever of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is best placed for your address, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would like the code checked before ordering. The full terms are on our shipping & returns page.

About This 106R01415 Black 2-Pack for the Phaser 3435

This is a 2-pack of compatible 106R01415 black toner cartridges for the Phaser 3435 range, each cartridge rated at up to 10,000 pages — up to 20,000 pages across the pair — at $104.58, or $52.29 per cartridge and about 0.52 cents per rated page. It is built around a simple idea: a workgroup mono printer should never be standing idle for want of a cartridge, so one unit runs in the machine while its twin waits in reserve. The full range for the platform is in our Xerox catalogue, and both cartridges carry the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns described above.
