Frequently Asked Questions
Who actually runs 28,000 pages through a desktop printer like the P311?
Offices where the "desktop" printer is secretly the department printer — a busy accounts desk, a dispatch or intake station, a teacher workroom. At 1,200 to 1,500 pages a month, four cartridges cover a year and a half to two years. If your P311 prints a few hundred pages a month, this pack is more than you need and a two-pack is the honest recommendation.
What is the best per-page price this cartridge offers?
This pack is it. At $222.62 for four 7,000-page cartridges, each cartridge costs $55.66 and the rated cost lands around 0.80 cents per page — the lowest figure for the 408284 in any size, and $55.46 less than buying the four cartridges one by one.
Will all four cartridges fit the P311 — and only the P311?
They fit the P311, and more besides: the 408284 is one cartridge design for this entire compact platform: Lanier M320F. This listing names the P311, but a four-pack bought for it doubles as stock for any sibling model your office runs from the same family.
How do I manage four cartridges without losing track?
Install them in the order you bought them — oldest first — and let the last cartridge be the reorder flag: when it goes in, the next order goes out. Stored sealed at room temperature, the cartridges waiting their turn lose nothing; there is no freshness race to manage.
A workhorse P311 fades near the end of each cartridge — is that normal?
Yes. Gradual lightening is how toner cartridges announce the end — the machine's warning comes first, and fading follows if you print on. Swapping in the next cartridge from the pack restores full density immediately; if it ever did not, that cartridge is covered under the warranty below.
What warranty and returns apply to this pack?
Every cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns, as laid out on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and support is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
About This Ricoh 408284 Four-Pack for the P311
Some Ricoh P311 printers live the quiet life; others are the hardest-working machines in the building. This four-pack is for the second kind — 28,000 rated pages at $55.66 per cartridge and roughly 0.80 cents per page, so a high-volume desk can run for a year or more between orders. The rest of this platform's supplies are gathered on our Ricoh toner page.
