Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 601X hold 20,000 pages when it fits the same machines as the 10,000-page 601H?

It is a higher-capacity version of the same cartridge — same fit, same slot, simply more toner inside. Nothing on your MX310, MX410 or MX510 needs adjusting; you just change cartridges half as often.

What is my real cost per page with the 601X?

At $103.93 against a 20,000-page rating, the math lands at about 0.52 cents per page, versus roughly 0.81 cents for the standard 601H. On a machine printing 50,000 pages a year, that difference alone is worth around $145 annually.

Does the 601X fit every printer the 601H fits?

Yes — the two are interchangeable across the platform: MX511de, MX511dhe, MX511dte, MX610de, MX611de, MX611dfe, MX611dhe and MX611dte. This listing is the general high-yield listing for the family rather than one tied to a single model, and any machine that takes a 601H takes this cartridge.

Is there any reason not to buy the high-yield version?

Only the upfront price and your volume. If your MFP prints a few hundred pages a month, a 601X could sit in the machine for years, and the 601H's lower price makes more sense; the X earns its premium when pages move quickly.

Do photocopies count against the 20,000 pages?

They do. On these multifunction models, copies draw from the same black cartridge as prints, so a copy-heavy front desk will reach the end of the rating sooner than a print-only office producing the same number of documents.

What cover does this cartridge come with?

It is backed by a full one-year warranty, and returns are free for the first year — the details live on our shipping and returns page. Questions before or after you install it are handled by our support team on weekdays, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
