Frequently Asked Questions

• How many pages does the HP 4S6V1LN print?

HP rates the 4S6V1LN at about 800 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 test conditions, printing standard pages at around 5% coverage. Your own count will move with coverage, paper and settings — dense colour pages use far more ink than plain text.

• Which printers take the 4S6V1LN?

It fits OfficeJet Pro 9110b, OfficeJet Pro 9125, OfficeJet Pro 9135, OfficeJet Pro 9720 and 1 more. The complete verified list is in the Compatible Printers section on this page — check your model there before ordering.

• Is the 936 the same as the 923e?

No. Both are EvoMore-generation cartridges, but they serve different printer series and are not interchangeable — match the number on your old cartridge.

• Standard or XL — which should I buy?

This is the standard-yield cartridge, rated at about 800 pages. If you print every week, the XL version of the same colour works out cheaper per page; for a lightly used printer, this size avoids ink sitting unused.

• Is the 4S6V1LN pigment or dye ink?

It is pigment ink — the same ink technology HP uses in the original 4S6V1LN — so text stays sharp and resists water and highlighter smear.

• Does this cartridge have a chip?

Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer, so the low-ink warnings keep working. It is not a refilled original shell with a reset chip.

• My printer shows a warning after installing — what do I do?

Acknowledge the on-screen message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks, and restart the printer. If the warning persists, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall. This family runs HP dynamic security: the printer checks the cartridge chip, and HP firmware updates can change what is accepted. Our cartridges carry a new compatible chip built for these models; if a future HP firmware update ever blocks a cartridge, the lifetime warranty covers you — contact us and we will put it right.

• Will this work if my printer uses HP+?

if your printer was set up with HP+, it accepts original HP cartridges only — that lock is part of the HP+ program and applies to every non-original cartridge, ours included. On printers that are not HP+-locked, these cartridges install and print as normal.

• My 9720/9730 shows a setup-cartridge message — what does that mean?

Wide-format OfficeJet Pro models can ask for the setup cartridges that shipped in the printer box for first-time initialisation. A printer that has completed setup takes these cartridges normally.

• Can I mix this cartridge with original HP cartridges?

Yes. Each slot is read independently, so a compatible black alongside original colours (or the other way round) prints normally.

• Is this an original HP cartridge?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the 4S6V1LN specification and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP; the HP name appears only to identify the printers it fits.

• What if the cartridge leaks, is not recognised or prints badly?

Stop and contact us — do not keep printing on a faulty cartridge. The lifetime warranty covers recognition failures, leaks and print-quality defects: we replace the cartridge or refund you.
