Frequently Asked Questions

Our small office prints a bit of everything — is five cartridges the right size?

For a small office mixing invoices, letters and the occasional color handout, a five-cartridge set is a comfortable middle ground: enough stock to handle busy weeks, without tying up much cash or shelf space. At $87.24 the set costs $17.45 per cartridge. Most small offices find one set carries them through a season of everyday mixed printing.

What page counts should we expect from the cartridges in this set?

The set uses the TN336 family ratings: black cartridges are rated at up to 4,000 pages each and color cartridges at up to 3,500 pages each, both at the standard 5% coverage. Color-heavy pages will use more toner per sheet, so presentation work shortens those numbers somewhat. Everyday office documents land close to the ratings.

Which Brother models does this set fit?

This set is made for the HL-L8250CDN, HL-L8350CDW, HL-L8350CDWT and MFC-L8600CDW. Any of those machines will run these cartridges, and each color swaps in independently as it empties.

When one color runs out mid-week, do we have to stop printing?

No. Each cartridge is a separate unit, so you replace only the color that is empty and keep going with the rest. The printer may limit color output until that slot is refilled, but black printing is unaffected if your black cartridge still has toner.

How quickly can a follow-up order reach us?

Orders leave from the closest of our four warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, which keeps transit times short for most of the country. If you need help choosing a follow-up pack, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. More of the range is listed on the Brother brand page.

What protection comes with this set?

Every cartridge in the set is backed for a full year, and if something is not right you can send it back free within that year. That cover applies cartridge by cartridge, so a problem with one does not affect your standing on the others. It is the same protection we put behind every compatible cartridge we sell.
