Frequently Asked Questions

Why does cyan decide whether a presentation looks professional?

Because presentation blues, title bars, charts and backgrounds, are cyan-built, and they are the largest blocks of color on the slide handout. When cyan weakens, the whole deck looks washed before a single word is read. This TN331C is rated at up to 1,500 pages for $32.86 (about 2.19 cents per page) and exists to keep those handouts looking like the screen version the team approved.

Should we print presentation handouts on a fresh or a fading cyan?

Fresh, whenever the audience is external. A fading cartridge is fine for internal drafts, but handouts are judged as artifacts. A practical office rule: when cyan crosses into its last stretch, it is demoted to internal work and the new cartridge takes the presentation jobs.

Which printers take this cyan cartridge?

These models do: HL-L8250CDN, HL-L8350CDW, HL-L8350CDWT and MFC-L8600CDW Each uses the TN331 family. Teams with heavier deck volume can step up to the high-yield TN336 cyan, up to 3,500 pages, in the same printers.

Can the cyan be replaced on its own between set renewals?

Yes. Colors live independent lives in this printer; the cyan swaps out alone in minutes, and the printer recognizes it automatically. Singles like this one are how teams top up the color that presentation work consumes fastest, without buying colors they do not need yet.

How do we store a spare cyan for a team that presents monthly?

Sealed in its packaging, flat, at room temperature. Toner does not spoil in storage, so buying ahead of the big meeting month costs nothing in performance. The only real risk is an empty shelf on the morning of the presentation, and storage discipline eliminates it.

What if the new cyan's output disappoints?

Print several test pages first, since a new cartridge settles over its first run. If output still falls short, the cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, per our shipping and returns page. Support answers 9 AM to 5 PM CST; stock ships from IL, PA, GA and CA.
