Frequently Asked Questions

24,000 pages in one box — who orders black toner by the tens of thousands?

Print rooms, fleet managers and any office where the big Brother by the door never really rests. This pack holds two TN880 cartridges, each rated at 12,000 pages, and it exists for workloads measured in thousands of pages a month: at 4,000 a month the box is half a year of printing; at 6,000 a month it is a quarter. Buyers at that scale do not think in cartridges, they think in uninterrupted months — and this pack is priced for exactly that way of thinking.

What does the pack save against two single TN880 cartridges?

A single TN880 is $161.29, so the pair bought separately costs $322.58. This pack is $306.98 — $15.60 saved, $153.49 a cartridge, and $153.49 shaved off the pack's $460.47 list price in the process. Honest framing: at this end of the range the per-page cost is already near 1.3 cents, so the pack's discount is a courtesy rather than a transformation. The operational gain — never facing a toner warning with an empty shelf — is the larger part of what you are buying.

Can the two cartridges serve two different printers?

Yes — the pack is packaging, not a pairing. Each TN880 is a complete, independent cartridge for any of the eleven models on its platform. A common pattern is one cartridge into the busiest machine now and the second held sealed as the fleet spare, ready for whichever printer calls first. Sealed genuine toner stores patiently; just keep the box flat and away from heat until its day comes.

Which printers does this 2 pack fit?

The eleven high-duty models of the platform: HL-L6200DW, HL-L6200DWT, HL-L6250 DN, HL-L6250DW, HL-L6300DW, HL-L6400DW and HL-L6400DWT printers, plus the MFC-L6700DW, MFC-L6750DW, MFC-L6800DW and MFC-L6900DW all-in-ones. Note the boundary of the family — the smaller L5000-series machines take the TN850, not the TN880 — so check the code on the cartridge you are replacing before treating this pack as fleet stock.

Should a fleet this size be looking at the TN890 instead?

Only for part of it. The TN890 is a 20,000-page cartridge, but it fits just two model families on this platform — the HL-L6400DW range and the MFC-L6900DW range. If your fleet is entirely flagships, its per-page cost, about a cent, beats everything here. The moment the fleet includes HL-L6200 or MFC-L6700-class machines, this TN880 pack is the largest cartridge those printers can take, and the comparison ends there.

What are my return and warranty rights on the pack?

You may return the pack within 30 days of delivery in all cases, and each cartridge is covered by Brother's manufacturer warranty — the full wording is on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and the support desk answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
