Frequently Asked Questions

A workgroup machine needs the complete row changed — what exactly lands on the desk in this box?

Four genuine Brother cartridges, one for each slot: the TN336BK black, rated at 4,000 pages, alongside the TN336C cyan, TN336M magenta and TN336Y yellow, each rated at 3,500 pages. Those are two different yield classes inside one box, which is why the set is described by class rather than by a single combined page figure — the black is built to outlast the colors, exactly as it does in everyday use.

Over a full refresh cycle, how does the one-box price stack up against four separate orders?

The set is $514.11. Bought one at a time, the same four cartridges — black at $103.36 and the three colors at $166.75 apiece — total $603.61, so the single box keeps $89.50 in your pocket over the cycle. It also sits well below the set's own $719.75 list price. If your machine genuinely needs the whole row, ordering it this way is the cheapest route to the identical genuine cartridges.

The four cartridges will not run dry on the same afternoon. Does that undermine the case for a set?

It can, and it is worth being straight about it. Black usually empties first, so a set bought when only the black is low leaves three colors sitting in a cupboard. The set makes its money when the toner gauges show several cartridges low together — the classic end-of-a-cycle moment on a shared machine. If just one color is calling, buy that cartridge alone; when the row is broadly spent, this box is the right shape of order.

How long can the unopened cartridges from this set wait in storage?

A long while, provided they stay sealed. Keep the boxes flat, in a cool and dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Toner cartridges do not dry out the way ink does, so a color bought as part of this set and fitted two or three months later performs exactly as it would have on day one. That shelf stability is what makes set buying practical even when the four changeover dates are staggered.

Which machines in our office will this set actually feed?

The set serves Brother's HL-L8250, HL-L8250CDN, HL-L8350, HL-L8350CDW and HL-L8350CDWT printers, plus the MFC-L8600, MFC-L8600CDW, MFC-L8850 and MFC-L8850CDW multifunction machines. Every cartridge in the box fits every machine on that list, so a mixed fleet of these HL and MFC models can be stocked from the same box type. Machines outside this platform use different cartridge families and will not accept these.

If one cartridge out of the four turns out to be faulty, what happens?

Tell us within 30 days of delivery — genuine Brother products bought from us carry a 30-day return right in all cases, and you will not be left arguing over a single bad cartridge in an otherwise good set. Past that window, each cartridge stands behind Brother's manufacturer warranty in its own right. Our support team, available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, will walk you through whichever route applies; the mechanics are set out on our shipping and returns page.

About This Brother TN336 Four-Cartridge Set

This set gathers the complete genuine TN336 row — TN336BK, TN336C, TN336M and TN336Y — for the HL-L8250 and HL-L8350 printer families and the MFC-L8600 and MFC-L8850 multifunction ranges. The black is rated at 4,000 pages and each color at 3,500, and the box is priced at $514.11, which is $89.50 less than the four cartridges bought individually. It dispatches from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses depending on your address. Individual cartridges from the family, and the wider genuine range, are listed under Brother.
